Commercial Water Damage Recovery
Commercial Office Building in Chicago, IL
Description of Work
Chicago, IL – During the polar vortex sub-zero temperatures of early 2019, a commercial building in the heart of downtown Chicago experienced a series of ruptured pipes and sprinkler heads. The building had extensive water damages affecting the 3rd floor, 2nd floor, main lobby, all the way down to the sub level, including the elevator pits, which rendered them unusable. At the time of inspection, water was still draining as a JCR restoration manager walked through, and a second pipe ruptured. The pipe ran for 20 minutes until building maintenance could restrain the flow. Once both ruptures were contained, JCR met with the property manager and developed a plan to extract the water and stabilize the building. JCR emergency mitigation crews were dispatched immediately, and worked to the property manager’s satisfaction by successfully drying the building.
