Two-Story Residential Building in Chicago, IL
Residential Water Damage Recovery for Two-Story Home in Chicago, IL
Description of Work
Chicago, IL – JCR responded to water damages in a high-end two-story home with a finished basement. Damages were present in the home from the floor heating lines on the main and 2nd levels. Drywall ceilings required removal so water lines can be inspected and issues corrected. Source correction was handled by Paragon Mechanical, Inc. JCR services included site preparation/protection, contents pack-out / onsite and offsite storage, mitigation and demolition, and (post source correction) final repairs.
Due to the high-end nature of this home, detailed and special containments were installed to protect all furniture and finishes. Each level was to be independently contained, so floor protection and barriers were placed. The stairway and all openings had independent containment barriers, so as to isolate working and non-working areas. The wine cellar in the kitchen was protected and contained, and negative air machines were installed once all barriers were set. Other areas protected included all marble, water fixtures, built-in shelving, and the granite fireplace with television. Multiple chandeliers, furniture, glass, and art were all wrapped and protected on site.
Reconstruction included demo to the main level and basement ceilings and other necessary areas, with special attention to all, can lights, speakers, and sprinklers built into ceiling and walls. Once source correction was performed, post-construction cleaning commenced, which included clean air systems and ducts/returns. Finally, drywall repairs and fresh paint finished off the project. The owners were thrilled with the remediation and reconstruction on their home.
