Residential Fire Damage Recovery in Chicago, IL
Description of Work
Chicago, IL – This residential fire loss occurred by live fireworks/ pyrotechnics that struck the home, igniting the fire. This is a 3 level home (attic, main and lower level). The most significant damage occurred on the main level. The property needed to be gutted to the studs, and full restoration of the homeowner’s personal belongings was also required.
The Contents Division carefully went through the homeowner’s items deeming what was salvageable and what the insured wanted cleaned, as those items would be packed out to be cleaned and stored at J.C. Restoration. The remaining items in the home would be deemed total loss and would be disposed of accordingly.
JCR then discussed the actual dwelling with the homeowners, and provided a run-down of what would need to take place for the restoration process. Fire Crews began with mitigation of the home – removing damaged materials, debris and odor from the inside and outside of the home. Crews then removed hardwood flooring, vinyl flooring, drywall, windows, ceiling, and walls along with any other parts of the home affected by the fire that could not be restored.
JCR then completed the full restoration process by installing new floors, ceiling, walls, electric, plumbing, kitchen, bathroom and HVAC system. The affected areas on the back porch were also restored. The home is now back to pre-loss or better condition. The homeowners were very satisfied with the work completed by JCR.
