Restaurant Building in Chicago, IL
Commercial Fire Damage Recovery in Chicago, IL
Description of Work
Chicago, IL – A fire started on the roof of this historic former firehouse turned restaurant, caused by work being performed by a third-party contractor. The 1st, 2nd, and basement floors of the structure were affected. The JCR Large Loss Recovery team responded and immediately performed Board-Up services and constructed a temporary roof and fencing to secure the property. JCR then began mitigation services, with the crew extracting approximately 80,000 gallons of water from the basement, along with cleaning up initial debris.
The Contents crew performed a comprehensive inventorying of salvagable and non-salvagable items, and packed out food, beverage, artwork, fixtures, wet documents, and “total loss” items. JCR also coordinated the evaluation of the restaurant’s appliances. The Fire team cleaned up debris on the exterior and interior of the building, as well as removed wet carpet from the 1st and 2nd floors of the restaurant.
The Water Mitigation crews worked from 8:00pm the night of the loss event around the clock until 4:30pm the next day. Restaurant owners plan to remodel and open for business in the future.
